Butler County Fire District #3 is currently accepting applications to fill two new Firefighter/EMT positions.
Start Date: January 6, 2025
Work Schedule: 24hrs on-shift /48hrs off-shift (56-hr work week)
Starting Wage: $45,914.04, (plus up to an additional $1,225.60 in holiday pay)

Job Description
Primary responsibilities include fire protection and EMS response. Applicants will operate firefighting equipment and participate in fire prevention programs, public education and fire inspections. Applicants will also make rescue runs and be responsible for station maintenance and training activities. This position requires a thorough knowledge of the operation and maintenance of equipment and principles of fire science, EMS, and department operations. It also requires the ability to follow written and oral instructions, read and understand technical manuals, effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public, and exercise independent judgment. Successful candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and be 18 years of age or older. In addition, applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and EMT certification prior to interview and successfully complete a department physical agility test. A certification in Firefighter I must be obtained within one year of employment.
